MMA legend Anderson Silva is more than ready to step into the ring with Youtube star who turned boxer Logan Paul.
46-year-old Silva turned the clock back in June when he entered a sanctioned boxing match and received an angry decision about former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Also in June, Paul returned to the ring for the first time since 2019 and fought in an exhibition match against five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather, 44 years old.
Paul, who had a significant size difference in his favor, fared slightly better than expected. Most observers expected him to be knocked out, but he managed to make it through the entire eight-lap distance.
Now there is talk of a showdown in the ring between Paul and Silva.
Silva’s boxing trainer Luiz Dorea believes his boxer will score a knockout victory – especially if Paul accepts a “sanctioned” fight.
“Logan turned out to be a very brave and talented kid who led an exhibition match against the legend [Floyd] Mayweather, ”Dorea said to Sherdog.
“But if it were in the official rules, the result would of course be different. Let’s see if he continues to hide under show rules or tests himself in the real world [under professional rules]. In this case, I have no doubt that Anderson will knock him out. “
Dorea has also worked with former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in the past, who died Nov.
“Vitor is a very explosive fighter, four years younger, much stronger and has never given up the athlete routine,” said Dorea. “De La Hoya is one of the GOATs of the sport, much more experienced in boxing matches, but we don’t know how he looked after his physical condition during the long break,” said Dorea.
“The experience is definitely on De La Hoya’s side, but I wouldn’t underestimate Belfort, who is very dangerous on the first two laps. I think Oscar will make a big difference and use his experience to win over points. “
