That’s all from Stamford Bridge, so good night!

After this tricky trip through the capital, Tottenham’s task doesn’t get any easier. After a North London derby with Arsenal on Sunday – in the final game of the Mind Series – their first game of the new Premier League season comes against Manchester City. Chelsea can look forward to the UEFA Super Cup against Europa League winners Villarreal in Belfast next week.

Chelsea somehow managed to pull this game off after cruising the Stamford Bridge lawn with great confidence and style for around an hour while Tottenham managed to salvage at least something tangible from a lackluster performance. As is so often the case in pre-season matches, numerous substitutions made sure that the game ended in the end, but Thomas Tuchel will certainly be the happier coach given the good first half of his team.

90 ‘+ 4’ FULL TIME: CHELSEA 2-2 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

90 ‘+ 2’ Alli almost sneaks behind the Chelsea defense, chasing a long diagonal ball, which is easily cleared at the end.

90 ‘ Three minutes of stoppage time are the order of the day, because Abraham and Tanganga meet in the center circle. Both eventually stand up and return to their respective positions.

88 ‘ Dier takes a corner from which a Kenedy-In-Swinger is cleared in front of Gollini’s nose.

86 ‘ The pace at the bridge has slackened significantly, with substitutions disrupting the flow of the game. Chelsea’s dominance has certainly been watered down.

83 ‘ After a rare offensive set piece for Spurs, Winks fired a shot too high with his right foot from a distance.

83 ‘ Yellow card Ethan Ampadu

Tottenham Hotspur

80 ‘ Doherty gets away with it in a direct trade with Aurier.

Chelsea

80 ‘ Chalobah starts for the second year in a row today but is called to the sidelines as Miazga replaces him.

Tottenham Hotspur

79 ‘ Both teams make another change, with goalscorer Bergwijn now being replaced by young Scarlett for Spurs.

78 ‘ Momentum has been sucked in by an excellent performance by Chelsea through Tuchel’s string of second-half substitutions, but Spurs are nonetheless content to sit back and try to break. However, it has been shown to be effective given the scoreline.

75 ‘ Gollini has made seven saves so far, which shows why Tottenham brought him from Atalanta in the summer – initially on loan.

Tottenham Hotspur

73 ‘ Davies joins Reguilon as a left-back.

72 ‘ Pulisic’s right-footed shot from the center of the box goes up and wide to the right of Gollini’s goal after a pass from Zappacosta, who has been on the bench since his substitution.

Tottenham Hotspur

70 ‘ TRACK LEVEL! Out of nowhere, Sarr Bergwijn gives the ball just outside the Chelsea area and the Dutch striker strides through and fires between Mendy’s legs to level it. He slides the ball well between his feet and then pushes the ball home with some authority.

66 ‘ Substitute Anjorin comes through and tries it with his left foot from a distance, saved by the sharp shot at the bottom left – Gollini is busy in the Spurs goal.

Chelsea

64 ‘ Rüdiger will be replaced by Ampadu, who was on loan last season and is now enjoying a few rare minutes in the Chelsea shirt.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Kenedy replaces Alonso on the grand piano.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Havertz is replaced by Zappacosta.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Kovacic changes for the young Anjorin.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Zouma is replaced by Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Again without a goal Werner is replaced by Sarr.

Chelsea

63 ‘ Star man Ziyech is one of several Chelsea men to retire, and Abraham is coming.

60 ‘ Another attempt by Gollini, Rüdiger’s shot with his left foot from a distance is blocked in the top left.

58 ‘ Chelsea appear unaffected after losing their two-goal lead when they push forward through Kovacic and Pulisic shoots Gollini straight from just outside the box.

Tottenham Hotspur

56 ‘ Spurs cut their deficit in half! Against the course of the game, Lucas uses a rare incursion into the Chelsea area and fires a deflected blow up and over the stranded Mendy. Certainly great luck for the fast Brazilian, because Rüdiger was slow to close it and saw the loop of the ball in his hind leg. The visitors are back somehow.

Chelsea

49 ‘ ZIYECH IN TWO! Another precision finish from Ziyech, who hits the ball sweetly into the lower right corner of Gollini’s net with the help of Alonso. His second goal of the game after engaging in Chelsea’s best job to date – Spurs can’t hold him back.

Tottenham Hotspur

46 ‘ Hojbjerg is eliminated, Winks replaces him in midfield.

C. Pulisic

C. Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea

46 ‘ Hudson-Odoi was deposed for recess; Pulisic is in his place.

Chelsea

46 ‘ Edge – after 45 minutes of imperious excellence – is protected by Thomas Tuchel, so that Bakayoko returns after his return from a loan from Napoli.

The Spurs bank certainly looks a bit lighter than their hosts today in terms of experience and quality, so it is questionable how Nuno will stop the blue tide in the second period. Chelsea, meanwhile, can afford to remove their English stars from the squad and still have a full list of substitutes, some of which will expire later.

Chelsea have absolutely dominated this fast-paced clash for a minute as they live up to their status as European champions at Stamford Bridge. Their confidence and sharpness after Sunday’s more closely contested game against Arsenal have taken Tottenham far from the pace and struggled to get the ball in a meaningful way.

45 ‘+ 2’ HALF TIME: CHELSEA 1-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

44 ‘ FINE SAVINGS! Havertz shoots with his left foot from a distance into the lower left corner, but Gollini holds well.

42 ‘ Werner simply cannot start with a long through pass from Chalobah – a shame, but Gollini collects.

40 ‘ GIVE YOUR CHANCE! Werner scrapes his left-footed shot from the penalty area directly on Gollini. The German international is still lacking self-confidence in front of the goal.

38 ‘ Dier interferes when Ziyech tries to unload another shot on goal, causing the Moroccan to tangle the ball under his legs. Chelsea are adamant right now.

36 ‘ Ziyech has recovered from his collision with Reguilon and is involved in Chelsea’s advance into the Spurs area, but Alonso simply cannot get to Hudson-Odoi’s cross from the right.

34 ‘ Ziyech needs medical attention. After some conversations with the Chelsea medics, he moves his right hip to the sidelines.

32 ‘ A hopeful long ball over the top is too straight for Lucas to take advantage of, and Mendy wipes up on the edge of his box.

30 ‘ The harsh early roar of the home crowd has subsided into a low hum as their team confidently stroked the ball in midfield while the Spurs chase shadows.

27 ‘ Rüdiger heads high and far after a corner from Ziyech.

24 ‘ The hosts had so far 62 percent possession and dictate a passive Spurs team. Nuno’s men simply cannot gain a foothold in the game.

22 ‘ The lively Chelsea fans cheer, but Werner’s shot from the edge of the box is counted by Kovacic’s terrific through ball offside. A close thing.

20 ‘ SO CLOSE! Ziyech almost doubled the lead with a shot just off the left post – the former Ajax wizard looks in the mood tonight. The home side are now totally dominant.

18 ‘ Strong setback from Alonso in the Spurs area, but Havertz and Werner cannot play together effectively and the chance of a second goal is forfeited.

Chelsea

16 ‘ SUPERSTRIKE! Edge does what he does best by pausing play, then feeds Ziyech, who strides forward and fires a powerful low shot over Gollini from the edge of the box. Just a reward for Chelsea’s efforts to date.

13 ‘ Havertz builds a cross from the left, but Alli blocks the attempt. After the resulting throw-in, the attempt by Marcos Alonso von Gollini is easy to cope with.

10 ‘ Chelsea have now started building some momentum as Werner and Ziyech are effectively pushing in and around Tottenham. The crowd is certainly warming up for their efforts.

7 ‘ Ziyech opens his body and tries to bend one into the top corner, but leans back and drives far over Gollini’s bar. Good build-up game from Hudson-Odoi, who intervenes from the full-back.

5 ‘ Doherty pushes to the sideline but his cutback is last blocked by Chelsea, who started the encounter on the rear foot.

3 ‘ SAVE SHARP! Son shoots from the edge of the box to the left, and Mendy reacts quickly to tip him backwards for a Spurs corner.

1′ We are on our way to thunderous applause from the audience at Stamford Bridge!

Harry Kane is out again for Tottenham, the English captain has yet to return to training, but Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are back on the team after long breaks. In Kane’s absence, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli all found the net in the club’s two test wins against Colchester United and MK Dons – this offensive triumvirate will be picked up by new boss Nuno Espirito Santo at the bridge.

Euro 2020 winners Jorginho and Emerson both rejoined the Chelsea squad this week, while Mason Mount and Thiago Silva also signed up for pre-season training. However, none is ready to start yet.
