The club brought another signing with the signing of the former Southampton striker
Aston Villa has completed the signing of Danny Ings, the club announced on Wednesday, on a £ 30 million deal.
The striker has signed a three-year deal with the club as he joins from Southampton, where he scored 13 goals in all competitions last season.
Ings now joins Leon Bailey, Emi Buendía and Ashley Young at Villa Park as the club continues a busy summer.
What would be said?
“Danny is an outstanding Premier League footballer who has scored goals everywhere,” said manager Dean Smith.
“He’s also a top professional with a great personality who will be a leadership role in our squad and a role model for our fast developing young Academy players who are now playing in and around the first team. I’m excited, Danny welcome to our great club. ” . “
Ings’ Premier League record
After breaking 11 goals for Burnley in 2014-15, Ings moved to Liverpool where he struggled to make a difference due to injuries.
However, the striker has since returned to form as a member of Southampton, scoring 46 goals in the last two seasons and establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s top scorers.
Ings also recently made two caps for England after making his debut in 2015 when Ings met Wales in a friendly in October.
A busy summer
The Ings deal continues a big summer for Villa, which confirmed Bailey’s signing on Wednesday.
The club also brought in former Norwich star Buendia in June and confirmed Inter’s Ashley Young’s free transfer.
Villa appears to be losing its own star, however, as Jack Grealish is set to make a £ 100m ($ 139m) move to Manchester City in the coming days.
