Amerks signal Mersch to two-year deal

The Rochester Americans haveWe signed striker Michael Mersch to a two-year contract with the American Hockey League.

Mersch finished second in scoring at the Amerks in the 2020/21 season and scored eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 28 games.

At the start of his eighth professional season, Mersch has played 405 AHL career games with Rochester, Texas, Ontario and Manchester, scoring 130 goals and 134 assists for 264 points. He has also scored 16 goals and 19 assists in 44 postseason games and won the Calder Cup as a rookie with Manchester in 2015 while taking the AHL lead in the playoffs with 22 points.

Originally a choice of Los Angeles in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft, Mersch has played 17 games in the NHL with the Kings, scoring one goal and two assists.
