To round off a successful second season with the Utah Jazz, All-Star Security Guard Mike Conley agreed to continue his residency in Utah and sign a three-year, $ 72.5 million deal with the team on Monday, said ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Jazz raised the luxury tax significantly to keep Conley on the list, as both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell recently signed a five-year extension worth $ 368 million.
Amid the news, Conley took to Twitter and excitedly announced his return:
Conley’s last two seasons with Utah were dampened by recurring hamstring problems, causing him to be eliminated from the entire Western Conference semifinals of jazz against the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2021 NBA playoffs.
While injuries were no stranger to the versatile veteran, he’s still a key figure in Utah’s backcourt).
The new deal also allows Conley to hang out with former Grizzlies teammate Rudy Gay. who has signed a two-year contract with the jazz.
