JACKSONVILLE, FLA – The proud ECHL daughter of the NHL New York Rangers and AHL Hartford Wolf Pack, Jacksonville Icemen announced today that the team has reached agreements with striker Abbott Girduckis for the 2021-22 season.
Girduckis, 26, is returning to Jacksonville for a second season after scoring 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 47 games with the Icemen last season. Girduckis posted four three-point performances last season and scored a hat trick against Florida on April 10.
Girduckis scored 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 49 games with the Toledo Walleye in his 2019-20 rookie season. The Icemen acquired Girduckis after a trade in June 2020 from Toledo. In addition, Girduckis made nine appearances for the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2019/20.
The 6-2,190-pound forward scored a total of 93 points (30 goals, 63 assists) in four college seasons at RIT. Belleville, Ontario resident won an AHA conference title with RIT in 2016.
Girduckis joins striker Ara Nazarian and defender Jacob Friend as players who have agreed with the Icemen for the 2021/22 season.
Jacksonville will open the 2021-22 season with four away games from October 23rd. The Icemen’s home opener for their 2021-2022 All-Star season is scheduled for November 6 against the South Carolina Stingrays.
