Donny Van de Beek’s difficult season

Donny Van de Beek moved from Ajax to Manchester United for a deal worth £ 35million in the summer of 2020 amid a great deal of noise.

However, his first season in England was a disaster. Van de Beek, who was used as a high-profile option in midfield, scored just 511 minutes in the Premier League, spread over 19 games.

This only adds up to 27 minutes per appearance, which gives Van De Beek no chance of showing why he was brought to Old Trafford in the first place.

Van De Beek’s agent speaks out

In the midst of such a disappointing time in Manchester, it’s no surprise that a loan deal was discussed this summer. However, no loan agreement has been made since then, and Van de Beek’s agent has since commented on the reasons.

Speaking to VI, he revealed the following:

“There was a lot of interest from Italy, Germany, England … so that looked good. But you need the club’s cooperation, and it looked like they would, but in the end they didn’t. Disappointing but also reassuring for him to get his chance and protocol, but that will become clear in due course.

He’s been promised that before, but we have clearly come to an agreement with the club, so we all believe it will happen now. “

When asked about the luck of his players, however, van de Beek’s agent was more reluctant, saying:

‘I won’t say that. But everyone who knows Donny knows that he loves the game and wants to be on the court every week. So from this answer you can probably tell what he wanted most. ‘

However, according to Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, a formal offer never came for the Dutchman so he was sentenced to Old Trafford.

Will Van de Beek get more minutes this season?
