The Ingwe boss scoffs at the FKF’s decision to suspend him and goes on to say they don’t want any points that have been taken away
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda laughed at the Kenya Football Association’s decision to deduct three points from them for missing Saturday’s Mashemeji derby against Gor Mahia.
The two Kenyan giants decided to skip the game at Thika Stadium as they asked the association to provide them with their money from grants and prize money to participate in the final of the FKF Shield Cup.
But on Sunday, FKF confirmed they’d taken three points each from the country’s two biggest clubs as a penalty, receiving AFC Leopards Ksh 6 million as the home team and Gor Mahia Ksh 4 million as the away team.
The association confirmed through President Nick Mwendwa that it has suspended the chairmen of the AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia Shikanda and Ambrose Rachier for two weeks pending a decision by the Disciplinary Committee.
Shikanda has told you now gate he will continue to exercise his duties as chairman of the association and further declares that he is not interested in the points withdrawn.
What was said
“Let him get all the points, not even the three points, we don’t need the points and when we decided not to play in the derby, it was clear that we weren’t interested in the points, we weren’t interested. I need them Don’t score, ”said Shikanda gate.
“We stopped fighting for points when he named Tusker to represent Kenya in the Caf Champions League. He can take all the points we’ve collected so far, if he so wishes, we don’t care.
“If we needed the points, we should have honored the game, but we didn’t leave because we didn’t need the points. He can take the points and donate them to Kariobangi Sharks, we don’t need them.
“He jokes about football, he plays games that are not good for the sport, he bought a trophy from Ksh100million and then he comes to lie to Kenyans on national television that the trophy was bought from Ksh50million, who does it, or he? thinks we can’t know where he bought it from? “
Shikanda: Mwendwa can’t suspend me
Regarding his suspension, Shikanda said, “What powers does Nick have? [Mwendwa] have to suspend me? What is his membership number at AFC Leopards? Nothing will change and his suspension will have no consequences, I will continue to perform my duties as chairman of the AFC Leopards
“This suspension won’t affect my work at AFC Leopards, even if he suspends me for 100 years.” [forget about the two weeks], it won’t affect my work at AFC, that’s a joke.
“What article did he refer to to suspend me? He dreams, we will answer him accordingly, no problem. “
