AJ McKee quits Patricio ‘Pitbull’ to earn $ 1,000,000 and the Bellator 263 featherweight championship

AJ McKee went undefeated, winning the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix, winning the featherweight championship, and taking in a payday of $ 1,000,000 at Bellator 263 on Saturday.

McKee improved his unbeaten record to 18-0 with a first-round win over longtime champ Patricio “Pitbull” Freire at Saturday’s Main Event at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

McKee hit with a headbutt that staggered Freire. When McKee sensed the end was near, McKee discharged a barrage of blows. An uppercut dropped Freire. “Pitbull” got up quickly and found himself in a standing guillotine stranglehold. Seconds later he was passed out.

“We’re just getting started. This is just the beginning. When it started and they picked the bracket, I wanted the third or fourth pick. But God told me I was number one, so I knew that I was number one and now I am, ”McKee said after the win. “Mentality is the key. You have to put the work into it and my dad always says that hard work beats talent. “
