Oisin Murphy, currently probably the best jockey in the world, rides out of his skin. The Irishman has 10 winners from his last 18 runs in SP 1-3, 8-11, 5-6, 6-5, 5-4, 13-8, 9-5, 15-8, 2-1, 2- 1. So yes, he clearly rides horses with very good odds, but his advisor is clearly very good at what he does. Murphy has a Book of Rides on Saturday in Newmarket and we think there is a slim chance five of them could win. If they all won it would return roughly 640-1 at the time of writing.
The race that Murphy wants to win the most that day is this Group 3 competition. He will ride John & Thady Gosdens Sun strike in the famous colors of Qatar Racing. Dark Angel’s daughter won a Kempton girl in June but hated the soft terrain at Ascot and did well over 7f the last time in public company. More needed, but in powerful hands.
Murphy will drive the Hugo Palmer trained Neptune legend in the next a kindergarten handicap. He showed a penchant for soft surfaces when he finished second on the Nottingham debut and has looked a tricky ride on two starts since then. Oisin rode him on the debut and is back now which is a plus and he still rode easily.

In the famous colors of Godolphin, Storm damage has a very obvious chance and should take all the beating. He looked like a horse who scored impressive goals on his Kempton debut in June and although he did not do well at Ascot, he was back in shape when he scored here last month.
The phantom of the city doesn’t want too much rain and is definitely a horse that prefers a solid surface for the weather to tell if that horse can run or not. He rose from 80 in Yarmouth on his return and followed almost under Murphy with 5 pounds more in Leicester in June.

Last but not least, Murphy will ride Dancing Harry most recently for Roger Charlton. Ryan Moore gave the Camelot gelding a peach from the front when he held All the Challengers at Sandown last month, and if he got another enterprising ride here he could do the same.
