5 transfers across Europe you might have missed.
In the first of a weekly series, 101 brings you five transfers you may have missed in Europe this week. Come back next Sunday for the next episode.
Eldor Shomurodov moves to AS Roma
For a long time it was thought that Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka would be the Roma’s first summer signing as the Swiss had reportedly been close to making a move since the European Championship.
That deal has since failed, however, and Xhaka is now set to offer a new deal in north London and return to Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
It could all be an attempt to get the Roma to increase their supply, but nothing has happened yet.
In the meantime, however, the Italian club are set to announce the signing of Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov from Serie A team Genoa.

According to transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal will cost Jose Mourinho’s team € 20 million 10 million Euros spent on Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
The two deals with no significant departures seem to make Roma’s unwillingness to upgrade Granit Xhaka more of a permanent problem than a temporary one.
SL Benfica signs Roman Yaremchuk
Now SL Benfica is moving to Portugal, and SL Benfica have announced the signing of Ukrainian striker Roman Yaremchuk, with the transfer fee estimated at around 20 million euros after taking into account the supplements.

The former Ghent striker played at Euro 2020 and scored two goals in five games as Ukraine reached the quarter-finals of the tournament. Generally known for his finishing skills, he scored times for his former club last season.
The 25-year-old has signed a 5-year deal with the Portuguese giants that will keep him in Portugal until 2026, Benfica confirmed on their website.
However, a good season at a level above the Belgian league could lead to larger clubs snooping around the Ukrainian.
Matteo Lovato to Atalanta, Romero to Tottenham
The biggest Atalanta transfer story this summer was Tottenham’s most recent pursuit of Cristian Romero, the Argentine defender who won Serie A Defender of the Year award last season.
Cristian Romero hopes to move to Tottenham as a priority. He’s pushing directly at the club, there is nothing at Barcelona – just Spurs. ️ #THFC
Tottenham want Atalanta to take their final offer as Romero wants to join Spurs. The tense situation between the clubs should be resolved soon.

Has Atalanta tacitly sought a replacement for the defender, however, which sparked Tottenham’s hopes of signing him in the process?

The Italian club have announced the signing of center-back Matteo Lovato from compatriot Hellas Verona in a deal valued at just over £ 7m. Only 21, Lovato has only played 25 Serie A games so far, so could be one for the future. Nonetheless, everything points to a defensive exit.
The young defender Odilon Kossounou moves to Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen have signed promising young defender Odilon Kossounou from Club Bruges for 20 million euros on a long-term basis.

The 21-year-old defender, who impressed for Club Bruges last season, has signed a five-year deal in Germany where he will wear the number 6 shirt previously worn by fellow defender Aleksander Dragovic.
With both Sven and Lars Bender announcing their retirement and Dragovic leaving the club, Kossounou could be thrown into the deep end this season and should Edmond Tapsoba stay next to him, Leverkusen could have one of the most exciting young defensive partnerships in the world Football.
Myron Boadu signs for Monaco
Myron Boadu, a football manager favorite, is a promising young striker who, at just 20 years old, has made 64 Eredivisie games and scored 32 goals.
Signed papers. Myron Boadu joins AS Monaco with a permanent contract from AZ Alkmaar, confirmed. He will sign by June 2026, deal completed. #ASMonaco https://t.co/bR5F1q3g2m

Now one of the world’s hottest up-and-coming talent is joining AS Monaco, a club known for promoting young talent, and that could prove to be a stepping stone to fame. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch striker will sign a five-year deal with his new club.
The two clubs had been in talks about a possible move for weeks but after the deadlock, Monaco appear to have their man.
Will he be there for a long time?
