If it’s really Aaron Rodgers’ “Last Dance” at Green Bay, here are three former teammates the Packers should consider bringing them back.

The NFL offseason story was undoubtedly the drama between the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although it looked like Rodgers was leaving training camp, the Packers and the reigning NFL MVP agreed on a revised contract to make it suitable for the 2021 season.

The Packers’ reassurance to Rodgers became apparent after the team acquired former wide receiver Randall Cobb from the Houston Texans. With Cobb returning to Green Bay for one final run with Rodgers, they could potentially choose to bring back more of his former teammates.

Here are three of Rodgers’ former teammates who were set to bring the Packers back for the 2021 season.

3. Jake Kumerow

This is a layup as wide receiver Jake Kumerow’s release was the catalyst for Rodgers’ deteriorating relationship with the Packers front office.

Before the 2020 season began, Rodgers spoke ardently about Kumerow in an interview. Days later, Kumerow was one of the last squad cuts in the Packers’ training camp. It was bad timing on the Packers’ side, and it became apparent that the transaction angered the quarterback.

Flash forward to the past week, and Rodgers referred to Kumerov’s release in part of his much-discussed press conference on the training camp. In particular, Rodgers called Kumerow “the second best wide receiver in training camp last year” and made an insightful comment about the Packers cutting him, as you can see in the tweet below, courtesy of ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

Kumerow completed two seasons with the Packers (19 games) when he caught 20 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns on 32 goals.

The 29-year-old wide receiver is currently a member of the Buffalo Bills. If Rodgers wants Kumerow back, the Packers will likely have to hand the Bills a late-round draft pick, much like they did with the Texans to get Cobb.
